After they are pressed in the bushings must be reamed or honed to fit the new pins. The king pin bushings must be pressed in to the spindles. For ford axles 1928 1948 passenger car. The threaded end of the lock pin should point toward the rear of the car.

Slide the lock pin into the hole threaded end first making sure that the pin locks into the notch on the king pin. The king pin is locked in place in the axle and does not rotate. The bushings are not a real tight press fit.
